Anuvahood is a film that has a big influence in what I want to do with my comic strip ‘INK’, my intentions was to make an intro for a pilot episode for my comic strip and in the story I want to develop, the genre will be a sitcom. The film was released on March 18, 2011, directed, written and starring Adam Deacon. The UK film is starring a boy name Kenneth (known as Kay) who’s just another wannabe bad boy and realizes this he wants to prove that he is a real bad boy
Friday is 1995 stoner comedy-drama-buddy film directed by F.Gary Gary, starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. The film revolves around two guys, Craig (Ice Cube) and Smokey (Chris Tucker) who ended up owing $200 to a drug dealer by friday night, because they both smoke his supplies its up to them to try get the money together or their lives will be in danger. The film spawned two sequels ‘Next Friday’ and ‘Friday after next’. This is an influence in black comedy and the use of urban music used in some of the scenes is similar to the chase sequence in my short film.
‘Do the right thing’ is a 1989 american comedy-drama film written, directed, produced and starring Spike Lee. The film takes place in a neighborhood in the hottest day of the summer full of racial tension which builds up towards the ending be coming a tragedy. This film was recommended for me to watch by the head of Art and design of my Uni ‘Colin Davies’, because the use of camera angles they used in the film and its helped a lot making my short film and made it more dynamic. I also like the use of hip hop music used in the film which shows I also got influences from by me using urban music in my short film in the chase scene.
