Director Influences

Adam Deacon

Adam Deacon is a british actor and rapper from East London, Hackney who started acting at the age of 12 and trained at the Anna Scher Theatre. He starred, written and directed in the film Anuvahood. Playing the role as director for my short film, Adam Deacon is an influence for what I want to achieve as a director, especially directing a film like Anuvahood, is another film that has helped me. He also played a role in 4.3.2.1 movie and in an MTV show called Dubplate Drama, a series about grime artist and gang crime which is good for my research becuase UK urban culture is something I want to promote in my film, I showed this by using a grime instrumental for the chase scene.

Noel Clarke

An English actor, director and screenwriter from London. He wrote, directed and starred in a film called Kidulthood and in the sequel Adulthood. The film gained £1,209,319 from the weekend of its release. Him coming from London like me gives me an inspiration to work hard as a director and aim to hopefully get to his position.

Spike Lee

Spike Lee is a writer, director and actor. Directed, written and starred in the film that helped me with my storyboard ‘Do the Right Thing’. Spike Lee has directed in many films like School Daze, Mo’ Better Blues, Jungle  Fever, Malcom X etc.
